12th International Yoga Day 2026 was celebrated at the Central Institute of Classical Tamil on June 21, 2026.
The address of Yoga Day speech of Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, was broadcast on the screen.

A selected group of teachers from PM SHRI schools under the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) in Nagpur, Maharashtra, visited Chennai on an educational trip. On January 8, 2026, they visited the Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT) and toured its facilities, including the e-library, the Classical Tamil Multimedia Centre, and the Online Tamil Teaching Centre. They also received training on these facilities. The visitors were welcomed and felicitated by the Institute's Director, Professor R. Chandrasekaran and Registrar, Dr. R. Bhuvaneswari.

செம்மொழித் தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவனத்தில் இன்று (26.01.2026) நடைபெற்ற நாட்டின் 77வது குடியரசு நாள் விழாவில், இயக்குநர் பேராசிரியர் இரா. சந்திரசேகரன் அவர்கள் தேசியக் கொடியை ஏற்றிவைத்துச் சிறப்புரையாற்றினார். பதிவாளர் முனைவர் ரெ. புவனேஸ்வரி அவர்கள் வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கினார்.

மத்தியக் கல்வி அமைச்சர் திரு. தர்மேந்திர பிரதான் அவர்கள் இன்று (06.01.2026) டெல்லியில் நடைபெற்ற விழாவில் செம்மொழித் தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவனத்தின் 13 புதிய நூல்களை (புறநானூறு, பதிற்றுப்பத்து, பத்துப்பாட்டு, நான்மணிக்கடிகை, நானாற்பது, முத்தொள்ளாயிரம் (மலையாள மொழிபெயர்ப்பு) சிலப்பதிலாரம் (தெலுங்கு மொழிபெயர்ப்பு) தமிழ்நாட்டில் இராமர் திருக்கோயில்கள் (தமிழ் & இந்தி மொழிபெயர்ப்பு), தமிழ்நாட்டு மரச் சிற்பங்கள், சங்க இலக்கிய அகராதி, அகநானூற்று அகரமுதலி- வினைச்சொற்கள், அகநானூற்று அகரமுதலி - பெயர்ச்சொற்கள்)
மற்றும் 'சைகை மொழியில் திருக்குறள் காணொலிகளையும் வெளியிட்டுச் சிறப்பித்தார். இவ்விழாவில் நிறுவன இயக்குநர் பேராசிரியர் இரா. சந்திரசேகரன் அவர்கள் கலந்துகொண்டு சிறப்பித்தார்.

இன்று(13-01-2026) செம்மொழித் தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவனத்தில் பொங்கல் விழா சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்பட்டது.

தென்னிந்தியப் புத்தக விற்பனையாளர் மற்றும் பதிப்பாளர் சங்கம் 49ஆவது சென்னைப் புத்தகக் காட்சியை நந்தனம் ஒய்.எம்.சி.ஏ. மைதானத்தில் நடத்துகிறது. இப்புத்தகக் காட்சியில் எப்-51 அரங்கில் செம்மொழித் தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவன அரங்கு அமைந்துள்ளது. இந்த அரங்கிற்குச் செம்மொழி நிறுவன இயக்குநர் பேராசிரியர் இரா. சந்தரசேகரன் அவர்கள் 12.01.2026 நாளன்று பார்வையிட்டார்கள் .

Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 program is being organized from 02.12.2025 to 15.12.2025 in Varanasi. As part of this program, the National Cadet Corps students from R.K.G.G.I.C Girls School, Varanasi were taught Tirukkuṟaḷ and prizes were given to the students who won the instant quiz by Prof. R. Chandrasekaran the Director of CICT, at the CICT stall on 09.12.2025.

The Teachers from Tamil Nadu taught Tamil to students at AMNM Model School and Vipin Bihari Chakrawarti Kanya I.C., Varanasi as part of the 'Tamil Karkalam' program in KTS 4.O. The students learned and practiced Tamil on December 6, 2025.

Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 program is being organized in Varanasi from 02.12.2025 to 15.12.2025. As part of this program, the students from BP Gujarat Vidya Mandir Inter College, Varanasi were taught basic Tamil and prizes were given to the students who won the instant quiz on basic Tamil by Prof. R. Chandrasekaran the Director of CICT, at the CICT stall on 04.12.2025.

Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 program is being organized in Varanasi from 02.12.2025 to 15.02.2025. As part of this program, the students from Dehradoon Public School, Varanasi were taught basic Tamil and prizes were given to the students who won the instant quiz on basic Tamil at the CICT stall on 04.12.2025.

Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0 program is organized in Varanasi from 02.12.2025 to 15.02.2025 in this event Hon'ble Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri. Yogi Adityanath, Hon'ble Minister of Education, Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu, Shri. R.N. Ravi, Hon’ble Minister of State, Information & Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. L. Murugan, among others visited the Central Institute of Classical Tamil stall on 02.12.2025. Prof. R. Chandrasekaran, Director, CICT explained the institute activities.

இந்தியத் திருநாட்டின் தேசியப் பாடலான ‘வந்தே மாதரம்’ பாடல் இயற்றப்பட்டு 150 ஆண்டுகள் ஆனதையொட்டி நாடு முழுவதும் இன்று (07.11.2025) கொண்டாடப்படும் நிகழ்ச்சியின் ஒருபகுதியாகச் செம்மொழித் தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவனத்தில் நடைபெற்ற விழாவில் ‘வந்தே மாதரம்’ பாடல் நிறுவனப் பணியாளர்களால் பாடப்பட்டுச் சிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டது.

The Frankfurt Book Fair 2025 event is held from 15 to 19 October at Messe Frankfurt in Frankfurt, Germany. Today (18.10.2025) held Panel Discussion on “Social & Human Sciences and Sustainable Development in India” organized Organized by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). The discussion was chaired by Prof. Dhananjay Singh Member Secretary of the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).

Prof. R. Chandrasekaran, (Director, Central Institute of Classical Tamil) in his address highlighted Sustainable Development References in Thirukkural and Classical Tamil Literature, eloquently highlighted Thiruvalluvar’s profound insights into the Social and Human Sciences, illustrating their enduring relevance to contemporary concepts of sustainable development.

The ‘India–Greece Publishing Dialogue’ held at Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025 shed light on the promising collaboration between the publishing industries of India and Greece. Greek guests, including Michalis Kalamaras and Argyris Kastaniotis (Director General, Kastaniotis Editions). The discussion was moderated by Mr. Kumar Vikram (Chief Editor & Joint Director, NBT-India) and chaired by Prof. Milind Sudhakar Marathe (Chairman, NBT-India)

Prof. R Chandrasekaran (Director, Central Institute of Classical Tamil) in his address provided a historical foundation, highlighting literary evidence from ancient Tamil works that link India and Greece. Mr. Kartik Raj Kushvah and publishers also participated in the conversation on 16th October 2025.

Siddha Dr. P. Selvashanmugam from Health India Foundation, Chennai, alongside 3 medical students viz. Mr. Alex, Ms.Jadamori, and Ms. Mishara from Morehouse Medical School in Atlanta, the capital of the US state of Georgia, are studying Siddha Medicine as a elective subject, and American Professor Dr. Sridharan visited the CICT on 07-10-2025. They met with the Director, Prof. R. Chandrasekaran, and inquired about the Institute's accomplishments, growth, and activities. The Director felicitated the medical students by presenting them with CICT publications.

பேரா. இரா. சந்திரசேகரன் அவர்கள் தேசியக் கொடியினை ஏற்றிவைத்துத் தலைமையுரை ஆற்றினார். நிறுவனப் பதிவாளர் முனைவர் ரெ. புவனேஸ்வரி அவர்கள் வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கினார்.
நிறுவனப் பணியாளர்கள் இவ்விழாவில் கலந்துகொண்டு சிறப்பித்தனர்.

National Librarian's Day
In remembrance of the birth anniversary of Padma Shri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan (1892-1972), who is considered the Father of Library Science in India, the 133rd National Librarian's Day was celebrated today (12-08-25) at the CICT Library by the institution's library staff. Earlier, the institution's Director, Professor R. Chandrasekaran, and the Institution's Registrar, Dr. R. Bhuvaneswari, also participated in the event and paid homage to the portrait of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan.

The “Integrated Siddha Medical Camp” for the staff of the CICT was inaugurated today (August 8, 2025) by the Director, Prof. R. Chandrasekaran. The Registrar, Dr. R. Bhuvaneswari, delivered the felicitation address. The Medical Camp was co-ordinated by Mr. T.G. Aruloli, CICT. Dr. P. Selvashanmugam, Secretary of the Health Indian Foundation, and his team provided medical advice and guidance to the staff at the medical camp. All the employees were given a ‘Siddha Wellness Kit’.

2024ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான செம்மொழித் தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவனத்தால் வழங்கப்படும் கலைஞர் மு.கருணாநிதி செம்மொழித் தமிழ் விருதினை மாண்புமிகு தமிழ்நாடு முதலமைச்சர் அவர்கள் முனைவர் மா. செல்வராசன் அவர்களுக்கு இன்று ( 08.11.2024) வழங்கிச் சிறப்பித்தார். மாண்புமிகு தமிழ் வளர்ச்சி மற்றும் செய்தித்துறை அமைச்சர், தலைமைச் செயலாளர், தமிழ் வளர்ச்சித் துறைச் செயலாளர், செம்மொழித் தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவனத்தின் துணைத் தலைவர், இயக்குநர், பதிவாளர் ஆகியோர் உடனிருந்தனர்.

அமெரிக்காவின் அட்லாண்டாவில் உள்ள மோர்ஹவுஸ் மருத்துவக் கல்லூரியின் முதுநிலை மாணவர்கள் மரு. ஜலேஷியா ஜேட் கிரிகோரி, மரு. கைலென் டர்னட், மரு. கேபிரியலா செப்லோவிச், மரு. ஜீன் ஓசுஹோ ஆகியோர் தம் பட்டப் படிப்பின் ஒரு பகுதியாகச் ‘சித்த மருத்துவம்’ குறித்த பாடப் பயிற்சிக்காகச் சென்னை வந்துள்ளனர். அதன் ஒரு பகுதியாக 17-10-2024 அன்று செம்மொழித் தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவனத்திற்கு வருகை புரிந்து பார்வையிட்டனர். இந்நிகழ்வில் மோர்ஹவுஸ் மருத்துவக் கல்லூரியின் பேராசிரியர் மரு. ராஜகோபால ஸ்ரீதரன், சென்னை மரு. ப. செல்வசண்முகம், நிறுவன இயக்குநர் பேரா. இரா.சந்திரசேகரன், நிறுவனப் பதிவாளர் முனைவர் ரெ. புவனேஸ்வரி, ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர்கள் முனைவர் த. சரவணன், திரு. தி.ஞா. அருள்ஒளி ஆகியோர் பங்கேற்றனர்.

22.06.2024 அன்று செம்மொழித் தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவனமும் புதுதில்லியில் உள்ள பாரத மொழிகளின் குழுவும் இணைந்து “கல்வி நிறுவனங்களில் திருக்குறளின் விழுமியங்களைப் பரப்புதல்” என்னும் பொருண்மையில் பயிலரங்கினை நடத்தின. இதில் பாரத மொழிகளின் குழுத் தலைவர் பத்மஸ்ரீ முனைவர் சாமு கிருஷ்ண சாஸ்திரி அவர்கள் சிறப்புரையாற்றினார்கள். நிறுவன இயக்குநர் பேராசிரியர் இரா. சந்திரசேகரன், நிறுவனப் பதிவாளர் முனைவர்
