The particulars of CICT’s organization, functions and duties This manual contains the present organizational structure, objectives and major functional areas of the Institute. The Institute is an autonomous organization established in 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, to concentrate exclusively on research relating to the Classical phase of Tamil (from the early period to 600 AD), which addresses the vital issues of the antiquity and uniqueness of Tamil.

A directory of CICT’s Officers and Employees The names, designations, dates of birth and residential addresses with phone numbers of all officers and employees of the Institute are included in this manual.

The monthly remuneration received by each of CICT’s officers and employees, including the system of compensation as provided in its regulations. This manual includes the remuneration received by each of its officers and employees.

The budget allocated to each of CICT’s agency, indicating the particulars of all plans, proposed expenditures and reports on disbursements made. The annual budget allocation and proposed expenditures will be included in this manual.

The particulars of facilities available to citizens for obtaining information, including the working hours of a library or reading room, if maintained for public use. The Library of the Institute is open from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on all working days. It is open for the staff and Research Scholars of the Institute. The Library provides all information about the Institute. It also contains books, journals and resources like DVDs/CDs, Video tapes and Audio Tapes. It is open to public for reference purposes only.

The entire present staff of the Institute has been appointed purely on a temporary basis, and recruitment rules are framed for all the posts. Based on that, permanent appointments will be made.
